So What Do You Like to Photograph??? - San Francisco Bay Area Event Photographer

I sometimes get asked the question, “So what do you like to photograph?” Honestly, I taking pictures of anyone, anything, any moment! But, one of the moments I especially love to capture are ones with kids. I get along with them and there’s a mutual understanding that occurs. Maybe it’s my size?! I’m closer to their height, so maybe they feel more connected to me?  I don’t know what it is! Me and kids, we usually become besties pretty quick. During shoots with kids, I’m usually the one jumping up and down, trying to get them to smile, and talking in kid language. =)

So this brings me to the next set of photos that I’m soooo excited to share with everyone. Last month, Hilary from Hilarie’s Helpful Hints (by the way if you have kids you have to join this group,  it’s fantastic!! Hilarie plans all these events and activities for families. It’s an awesome resource! I can’t wait until Mr. D and I have kids so we can join!), anyways back to what I was saying - yes, Hilarie asked if we would like to be the candid photographer for their Easter Event in Walnut Creek. Well, Jeff was scheduled to second shoot a wedding that day, but I jumped at the opportunity to take on this project on my own. OMG what a project it was! After close to 4 hours of shooting I ended up with a little over 400 photos to edit. So the editing part - that was the project part, but the taking photos part, well that was JOY! =)  Observing and taking in moments comes natural to me, but the beauty of photography is that I get to capture those moments from my perspective as I see them. How awesome is that?!?   The Easter event was so full of moments. There were tons of kids with their families, lots of activities, and 3, yes I said 3, egg hunts!!! The event actually was reminiscent of Easters celebrated during my childhood. I remember my parents hiding eggs around the house and being so excited to find them. Oh to be a kid again!

Anyways, that’s enough rambling from me. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. By the way these are just 25% of the photos I took, but I think the slideshow sums up the event nicely. It made me smile and I hope it makes you smile too. =)
