Cecille Maternity Session - San Francisco Bay Area Maternity Photographer

I knew Cecille from high school - when she contacted me about doing her maternity photos, I was pretty flattered and excited!  I feel maternity photos can be a beautiful thing - it celebrates the gift of life that we are about to receive and documents the pregnancy in an artistic way.

Congratulations Cecille and RC!!!  Can't wait to meet the twins!!! =)

Faby + Andrew Engagement Session Teasers - San Francisco Bay Area Wedding Photographer

Whenever Marianne and I do initial consultations with potential clients for wedding coverage, we always ask about how the couple met and just watch and listen to how they talk about that fateful moment.  Faby and Andrew first laid eyes on each other at Starbucks, where Andrew used to work.  He actually took Faby's order and from there, they went on their first date, which according to Faby, "was boring," but Andrew kept persisting.  She told us that after their first date, he offered to help her out with homework (uh huh....sure) and from there, they dated for 3 years before he proposed in.....

....Sausalito, which is where he popped the big question!  This also was the location for their engagement shoot, which was of course, very fitting.  I love Sausalito because it's so close to the water and on any given day, you'll catch families and couples strolling through Bridgeway enjoying the scenery.

Congratulations Faby and Andrew!  See you guys in a few months!!

Here are the teasers from their engagement shoot...enjoy!

This is the bed and breakfast where they stayed and the place where he proposed.  He had a photo from their 1-year anniversary on a bottle of wine, and on this photo were the words, "Will you marry me?"......

A date with the wifey...

A few weeks ago, Marianne and I had set aside some time to spend some much needed "husband and wife" time, and what better way to spend it than at a day at a few Napa wineries. With everything that we do, from grad school (we both are students), work, and with Delumpa Photography, this was a big breath of crisp, fresh air!! Marriage is a commitment, and remembering to love each other means that you have to nurture your relationship!

Well, Marianne has been dropping hints for awhile that she wanted a photoshoot, so what's a Delumpa date without shooting a few photos??!?!? =)

Here ya go, love! You are as beautiful as ever.

Here's my lovely wife, Marianne...enjoy!

KoKo - San Francisco Bay Area Family Photographer

We were asked by B to take photos of her grandkids, whom she affectionately refers to as KoKo.  Marianne and I love taking family photos, especially of kids playing.  For me, it brings me back to my childhood - being carefree, playing on the slides, and just having fun!  It amazes me how much energy kids have, but then again, I remember my mom always calling me "malikot," which in Tagalog means "always running around, cannot keep still."  I might have ran all that energy out and got it out my system, because nowadays, I'm a pretty chill and laid-back dude (it could also mean my age...ha!).

Anyways, here are the teaser photos from that session!  KoKo took a minute to warm up to us, but soon, they hammed it up for the camera!  The biggest compliment came after our shoot, which they both told us that, "it didn't feel like we were taking photos.  It was fun!"

That's why we love to do what we do. =)

Enjoy!

To Be Young and In Love ♥

How many of you remember going to prom?! Well, for me prom was many, many, many years ago. I actually enjoyed the proms I went to and it was a huge part of my high school experience. So taking photos of my cousin on the day of her first prom brought me back to those hs days. Oh to be young and in love! :)

It wasn't planned to have me take photos that night. I was actually on my way home from the HHH Easter Event when I called my aunt to see if they were free to hang out. My auntie said, "Syd is getting ready for prom." I thought, "Prom?!? Is she really going to prom? OMG I am getting old!!" lol To make a long story short, I got to tag along as my aunt dropped my cousin off at her date's house. It was fun seeing her and her friends all dolled up. They looked absolutely fabulous!!!
Oh and Syd thanks for being extra patient waiting for these photos. =)

xoxo miyan

My cousin and her date/bf. You know what made this night even sweeter??
He asked her to be his girlfriend. Ok, say it with me, "Awwwwwwwwwwww,"
like I said to be young and in love. ♥

The cell phones were definitely in use that night....Post to FB! Post to FB!! lol

It was definitely a family affair!
I loved how the parents were so into prom and they were just as excited as their kids.

My lovely cousin and auntie....

These two are definitely a good looking pair!

Wait, wait ... just 1 more picture!

As the limo drove off into the fog, the parents wanted one photo before heading inside for wine and shots. lol

My Parents' Anniversary Portraits

We shot a wedding this past March in Vegas for my cousin, so of course my family was there.  It just so happened that a few days before the wedding was also my parents' 35th wedding anniversary!  I guess being a photographer now means that you're the designated photographer for your family. lol

How did I end up shooting my parents' anniversary portraits??  Here's how it went down -

Mom:  Jeff, I want to take pictures!

Me:  Really?  Why?

Mom:  Because it's our anniversary!  I want you guys to wear suits and tell Marianne to wear a dress for family photos. And I want some pictures of me and dad.

Me:  Can't we just do it some other time??

Mom:  Jeffrey!!!!!!!!!!!

Me:  Okay, Mom! *sigh + eye roll*

Well, there you have it - here's a sneak peak at my parents' anniversary portraits.  We also took some family photos, but that's for our private collection. ;)

And yes, it was a bit weird taking their photos and posing them as a "couple."  C'mon, they're my parents!!!! *yuck*  But seriously, I had fun and my parents had a great time.

Enjoy the photos!

Jeff

Jo Anna + Joe - Engagement Session Teasers - San Francisco Bay Area Wedding Photographer

Jo Anna & Joe were referred to us by Alfy, a close friend of Miyan's.  When Jo Anna had called me for the first time, I swore that from the way she spoke, I thought she WAS Alfy.  For any of you that know Alfy, she's a pretty cool and fun person, so I already knew we'd get along just fine!!  After I got off the phone with Jo Anna, I called Miyan and told her, "love, she's exactly like Alfy!!  You're gonna love this girl!"  And the rest they say is.....

We took their engagement shoot in Monterey.  I ADORE Monterey for its scenery, good food, and of course, the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Oh, and one more thing, the Monterey Plaza Hotel is the bomb, for real!!  If you ever stay in Monterey, stay there!  It's realllllly nice!

As photographers, we do our best to tell the stories of our clients and to portray their personalities through our photos.  We have the greatest job in the world in meeting down-to-earth people and capturing but just a glimpse of their lives through our images.  With Jo Anna and Joe, you can feel the freshness, the bliss, the FUN, and the rawness of emotion of two people that are about to get married soon.  For me, it takes me back to how I was feeling leading up to the day of our own wedding.  Definitely a time that I will forever cherish.

We can't wait for your wedding, guys!  It's going to be off the chain!!  Congratulations and we'll see you both really soon!

Enjoy the teasers!

Jeff & Miyan
